Still wearing a full suit to the office? That’s okay, because you can rest assured that your fellow coworkers know that you take your work very seriously.

  • Bold Prints–Matching suit sets are a power look. You will have everyone’s attention and won’t have a problem with anyone taking you seriously. However, you don’t have to settle for a monochromatic suit. Try bold prints or mixing and matching a blazer with different pants for a contrasting look. People will not only look to you as a leader, but also as a trendsetter.
  • Flattering Cuts–Suits from the ’90s get a bad rap because they were mostly boxy and didn’t fit anyone’s unique figure. It was a one-size-fits-all sort of look. Thankfully, now suits for women are made with different body types in mind. Look for bold cuts that suit your body well—no pun intended. An ill-fitting suit or look of any sort may be viewed as sloppy or unprofessional, and we wouldn’t want that!

Types of Blouses

Sure, you could pair a white, black or navy blouse with almost anything in your work wardrobe. However, when you’re feeling bored, change up your style with bold, eye-catching blouses that will have everyone in the office admiring your wardrobe.

  • Peekaboo Blouses for the Office–Blouses that stand out the most have subtle details that make a huge impact. For example, a blouse with a shoulder cut out is appropriate for work, but it’s unexpected. Your coworkers will be thinking about how they can implement this into their wardrobe all week.
  • See-Through Blouses–When you think of see-through materials, you may think they aren’t a fit for the office, and understandably so. However, if you pair a see-through long sleeve blouse with a dark tank top underneath, not only are you abiding by the dress code, but you’re taking fashion risks. People at work will think you’re an office style pioneer.
  • Striped Blouses–A simple way to add contrast to your office looks is by throwing on a blouse with bold stripes. Stripes can break up boring habits and they are also adventurous without being too in your face. Expect a lot of compliments!

Every girl’s best friend is a blazer when it comes to work wardrobes. You could wear almost anything—even if it’s not work-appropriate—and top it off with a blazer for a workplace fashion masterpiece. If you throw on a blazer daily, your coworkers probably think you’re cool, calm and collected, and trust you’ll get your project done on time!

  • Blazer Saves the Day–You could wear jeans and a t-shirt into the office if you top the look off with a blazer. Your look will instantly go from lazy day, to boss lady. A blazer is transformative and it definitely tells your company that you are there to handle business.

Sweater for the Office

During the chilly months, it’s pretty acceptable to wear a sweater into the office. However, how you style it at work is how people interpret what your style means.

  • Chunky Knits–Think coffee shop chic. You can wear your favorite plus size chunky knit sweater and tuck it into a pair of black denim pants with a cute belt. This outfit is totally appropriate for a business casual environment and it gives off the vibe that you are friendly and approachable.

Accessorize Wisely

If you feel like you have it down when it comes to styling your clothing for the workplace but need a little help in the accessory department, don’t worry, we have tips! Accessories are the most underrated in the workplace because we often don’t want to be too flashy or have too much going on.

Also, who wants noisy bracelets clanking around on their desk as they type? No one. However, here are a few accessories to consider adding to your rotation.

  • Shoes–Depending on the company dress code, there may be some restrictions when it comes to what shoes you can and can’t wear. Instead of opting for a closed-toed flat shoe, elevate your look with a pair of chic and comfortable heels. Heels can give you a rush of confidence and they also make an outfit look sleek. It shows your peers that you mean business.
  • The Statement Handbag–Top your look off with a handbag that says “boss babe coming through.” Like heels and a blazer, bags can also be very transformative when it comes to workplace style.
