Reading time: 3 minutes
If you sometimes receive jewelry as gifts, or you often invest in high end pieces, the last thing you want is to damage them. Keep reading to find out how to store and take care of jewelry the right way!
Organize Using a Jewelry Box.

A jewelry box is not only a pretty addition to your vanity in your bedroom, but is key for organizing your pieces with all the separators. It’s one of the best ways to keep everything protected and organized.
Use Jewelry Bags.
If you have more delicate pieces of jewelry that can get scratched, store them in a small bag in order to protect them.
Pair Your Metals Separately.

Try not to mix your silver pieces with your gold pieces too much as they can scratch each other and tarnish early. It’s best to lay each piece down with a little space in between each one.
Keep Your Costume Jewelry Separate.
Costume jewelry tends to look old faster. Avoid damaging all of your jewelry by keeping your nice items apart from your costume pieces.
Send your tarnished pieces for cleaning.

Often, jewelry stores will clean your pieces for free. On the flip side, you can clean them yourself! All you need to do is soak them in a combination of white vinegar, hot water, baking soda and a touch of dish soap. Let that sit for a minute or two and then scrub the dirt off with a paper towel. You’ll have shiny jewelry again in a few minutes.
