17 Jan Office LookBook: Professional Outfits That’ll Make You Stand Out
Reading time: 4 minutes
As a young professional, my guess is that you’re aiming to stand out in your company.
Did you know that according to Business Insider, studies have shown attractive people achieve success more rapidly?
Naturally, in an attempt to make yourself as attractive as possible, you know that being impeccably dressed is important.
Whether you like it or not, what you wear is a direct indication of who you are as a person. If you want to be successful in your career, your clothing must reflect that.
Even your shoes divulge the type of person you are to the world!
To help you navigate getting dressed nicely for work, here’s an article with 10 different looks that’ll help you stand out and be more successful.
Look # 1: It’s all in the pump
There’s honestly nothing classier than a shiny, pointy, nude pump.
Although some may consider them too dressy for the office, it’s honestly the element in the look that helps elevate the ensemble as a whole.
A high heel also has the ability to make a woman feel empowered and confident.
As a young professional, feeling confident will drive your ambition and will be the key to your success in the company.
Never doubt the power of a good heel.
Look # 2: Classic & Elegant
You can never go wrong with wearing a classic corporate look.
This is an outfit I personally love wearing as well, especially because it is foolproof and never fails me on the days I simply don’t know what to reach for.
Look # 3: Black on Black
Black in the corporate world is one of the most common colors seen on professionals.
It screams elegance and implies that you mean business. What I like about this outfit though, is that the woman isn’t wearing a typical black suit.
She’s wearing a turtleneck and skirt combination, as well as a structured blazer on top. It’s an unexpected twist on the classic suit look that’ll have your colleagues noticing your unique style and professional appearance.
Look # 4: A touch of cheetah
When it comes to patterns at the office, most people may refrain.
However, if you learn to wear patterns in a tasteful way, you can stand out for your bold choice and classy style.
Additionally, wearing a pattern to the office signifies that you’re confident, and that you know you can pull-off anything.
This will in turn reflect in your performance and in the way others perceive your abilities to get things done.
Look # 5: Ultimate Girl Boss
There’s truly nothing better than waking up in the morning and putting on a girl boss outfit.
This is a great way to skyrocket your confidence first thing when you get up.
The loose blouse, tucked into the fitted pencil skirt is an outfit that helps elongate the body.
Paired with high heels, this look is absolutely killer and will definitely have others notice your poise and sophistication at the office.
Look # 6: Champagne Flared
This outfit is perfect for those warmer months. Wearing champagne to the office is a little less expected, but equally as classy and professional.
Paired with a complimentary blazer and you have yourself a summertime power suit.
Look # 7: The Modern Power Suit
As much as I love a great stereotypical suit, this one is more trendy, while equally as elegant for a young professional.
It has all the elements of a suit, but with a lace pencil skirt instead.
The woman in the picture even switched out the blazer for a long camel coat, which is convenient for the colder months.
This outfit would be just as appropriate in the summertime without the coat.
Look # 8: Elegant & Girly
Look number 8 will help you stand out because it’s not a typical corporate outfit. However, it remains just as formal for a young professional.
If you wanted to make this look appear even more corporate, you could replace the camel coat with a either a tweet jacket or beige blazer.
Look # 9: Cap sleeves
I love a good cap sleeve! Especially on a dress like this one.
Much like the dresses seen on Suits (the TV show), a fitted dress for the office will get you noticed because of its elegance.
The dress is also long enough to be appropriate and formfitting, without being over the top.
Look # 10: White on Black
On a casual Friday, you should wear this look. Since most of the outfit is black, it still appears very professional.
However, the jeans and white linen blazer are what makes the look casual enough for a Friday at the office.
A classic black and white contrast is always appropriate for work, but you’ll stand out for looking business-casual, as opposed to casual.
As well, the nude pumps help elongate your legs and make you feel strong in your casual Friday outfit.
In this article, I’ve shown you 10 unique looks you can wear to the office that’ll help you stand out.
When you look good, you feel good too.
Remember, your style is a reflection of the way you work. You better make sure you’re impeccably dressed if you want people to recognize how hard you work and how determined you are to succeed in your career.
