29 Apr Spa Day at Home Ideas to Help you Relax
Reading time: 3 minutes
Who has been seriously missing the spa lately? I definitely have! If you’re in need of some TLC, turn on your favourite relaxing spa music and check out the steps below for the ultimate spa day at home ideas!
# 1 Set the Mood
Start by putting on some relaxing music, dimming the lights and turning on some candles or your essential oil diffuser. Get the whole thing up and running to really set the mood and make your bath feel luxurious! Personally, I’m a sucker for diffusing lavender essential oils while listening to yoga music in the background.
# 2 Hop in the Tub
Run a bath, add your favourite bath bomb and even sprinkle some epsom salts to help your muscles unwind. Grab your favourite book and soak in the tub for as long as you want!
# 3 Get ALL Masks On
# 4 Exfoliate and Pluck
Face, lips, feet and body could all benefit from being exfoliated. You’ll feel super soft afterwards and rejuvenated. Don’t forget to apply moisturizer as well to keep your skin soft. Additionally, there’s nothing more satisfying than removing all the unnecessary hair on your face. You’ll feel so much more polished and defined once you take the time to pluck every unwanted hair off.
# 5 Shave your Legs
Whether you like to shave, wax or epilate, removing the hair on your legs is the next step to your at home spa day routine. Be sure to moisturize afterwards as well to keep your skin looking plump and youthful long term.
# 6 Give Yourself a Fake Tan
There’s something about a tan that seems to make women feel so much more beautiful and glam. Personally, my confidence is boosted every time I give myself a fresh tan and look a few shades darker. A few of my go-to self tanners are the St-Tropez mousse and the Bondi Sands tanning foam. They are really easy to apply and leave your skin with a nice bronze colour.
# 7 Give Yourself a Facial Massage
I have started giving myself a facial massage everyday to help boost the collagen in my skin and to keep my face looking plump and young. This is something I do to prevent aging and to relax the muscles in my face. You could as well invest in some facial tools! A few of my favourites are NuFace, a Gua Sha stone and a jade roller. The NuFace is amazing for giving you a temporary facelift, the Gua Sha is awesome for sculpting the face and the jade roller is key for sinking in your face products deeper into your pores.
# 8 Make a Great Drink
Whether you enjoy the occasional alcoholic drink or simply a delicious hot chocolate, make yourself your favourite drink to accompany you during your beauty treatments at home!
# 9 Tint your brows
If you’re looking to define your face more, even when you’re not wearing a full face of makeup, tinting your brows is the best way to do so. I personally love tinting my eyebrows and do so using the Dybrow kit by Eylure at home. It’s great because you control the darkness of the brow tint depending on how long you keep the product on your face.
# 10 Give Yourself a Mani Pedi
Lastly, treat yourself to a beautiful manicure and pedicure. If you want a simple nail polish, then I recommend the Revlon polishes, as I find they last longer on my nails. I also love the Sally Hansen Insta-Dry top coat or the Seche Vite for helping my nails dry faster. You could as well opt to invest in a gel nail kit at home.
