18 Aug Money Saving Secret Stores Don’t Want You to Know!
Reading time: 3 minutes
I recently discovered an amazing money saving secret.
Seriously, if I could underline amazing 3 more times, I would. I wish I had known about this trick much sooner. Every elegant young professionals are all about it!
This is something I’ve noticed that’s done extremely subtly by stores, but that can save you a ton of money and give you that shopping high you love so much.
I mean really, we’re talking big savings here!

I don’t know how long stores have been doing this for, but this industry secret definitely came to light for me in the last two months.
This trick is so great, it even got me to buy clothing that’s warm enough to wear without a coat outside, in the snow! Ok, that’s a lie.
I was definitely freezing. This trick has absolutely nothing to do with finding clothing that particularly keeps me warm in the winter. However, it did help me find this super cute sweater dress.
Alright Alright, are you dying to know what this secret is already?

You know how boxing day has crazy sales that last like all through January?? And everyone gets sooo excited during this time over amazing pieces they’re buying that were discounted between 20% and 50% off?
Well, guess what. It seems as though nobody knows that February is an even better month to find great pieces on sale. Think about it, stores have too much stuff they need to get rid of.
They’re trying to make more room for that spring collection (no one is actually ready for). They basically just want things to fly off the shelves. So what do these stores do?
They offer even more reduced prices.

That’s right, stores wait for the craze of Christmas to be over and for everyone to be back at work.
Once that third week of January hits and the stores are empty throughout the week again, they offer even higher discounts on their products!! We’re talking nearly 90% off on some things (depending on the item and the store of course).
Not to mention, they don’t advertise these huge sales as much, so not many people are aware of this trick. Are you wondering how much of a deal I got on this dress?
I mean, this is really a great way to learn how to look expensive for less.
Let me tell you where I actually found this dress, and how much it cost.

I’m not even kidding. I was able to buy quite a few pieces this February for a fraction of the original price.
I got a simple striped turtle neck from H&M for $5, reduced from $20, a black t-shirt sweater from Zara for $15 reduced from $40 and this sweater dress from Aritzia for $75 reduced from $150.
I even saw Forever 21 selling their coats for $15!! They normally price those above $50 each.
Honestly, wait until Feb to do that after Christmas sales shopping!
The sales are better and the lines are much shorter. You can’t really argue with that.
Conclusion
It’s worth picking up on the little tricks retail stores use as a money saving secret. It can save a lot of money in the long run.
Hope this post got you thinking about your shopping timing and that you use this tip next year after boxing day!
