Luckily, there are a few ways to boost your mood with the garments you choose to wear everyday.
Keep reading to find out how you can feel more positive during the cold winter months.
Treat Yourself to a New Garment
There’s nothing like buying a new piece of clothing to boost your mood! We all know that the winter can be rough and depressing, especially after the holidays.
However, a little retail therapy can really go a long way.
Whether you purchase a new tie or a brand new suit, shopping will not only cure your winter blues, but it will allow you to update your wardrobe for the office as well.
Wear a Pop of Colour
Many studies show that colour can significantly boost your mood.
That means wearing a pop of colour in your outfit is a great way to lighten things up at the office on a cold winter day.
Whether you choose to wear a dark forest green or a much brighter colour, you should feel a boost of energy at work.
Avoid Somber Colours
Although black and grey are office appropriate colours, they are quite somber and can be a downer at the office in the wintertime.
Try and gravitate towards more positive colours such as, navy blue or wine red when it comes to your office wardrobe during the colder months.
As mentioned above, avoiding dark colours should help boost your mood and make you feel like a more positive person in the winter.
Try out a Pattern
A little bit like a bright colour, fun patterns can also help bring up your morale. You can either choose to wear a shirt, or a pair of pants with a pattern to add spice to your attire.
Keep in mind however, when you wear a pattern, you want to make sure the rest of your outfit is a neutral colour that matches the pattered garment.
It’s always a good idea to mix in a pattern in your outfit, so long as you don’t look overwhelmingly bright.
In this article, I’ve shown you how to boost your mood in the wintertime through your clothing.
