18 Aug How To Dress Like A Millionaire
Reading time: 3 minutes
Wouldn’t it be nice if we could all spend our lives saving our money, seeing it grow in the bank while looking like we can afford hundreds of dollars worth of clothing? I personally strive to look my best as often as possible and find it hard on occasion to buy clothing I can afford, but that doesn’t look cheap either. Luckily, I have found easy tricks to help you dress like a millionaire as an elegant young professional.
Expensive looking pieces can come in two forms.

Shop the look!
Either an item looks expensive because it was found on the sales rack of an expensive store, or it’s a good quality item found in a less expensive store. This white blazer is from Forever 21. I always get compliments on it and is one of my most worn pieces. Best part is how affordable it was! Keep reading to find out how to look expensive.
At a high end store, head straight for the sales rack.
This trick helps you fool everyone into thinking you spend like a millionaire, when in reality you’re not breaking the bank at all. Waiting for the sales of an expensive store is so worth it since you get quality, long lasting pieces for way less. There are sales year round, however December, January and May are some of the best months to find deals.
Feel the quality of the garments.

Shop the look!
Even in a store like H&M you can find decent quality items, if you take the time to feel the garments and read labels. Sometimes, you can find pieces with mixed fabrics including wool or cashmere that feel soft and luxurious. You may not find items with 100% wool for instance, but with just enough to make the fabric feel more expensive than what you would traditionally find in a fast fashion store.

Avoid large logos.
Large designer logos spread across a t-shirt, dress or handbag can appear very classless and tacky. Master the art of subtly and class by investing in classic looking designer pieces that look and feel expensive without the tacky logo across the front.
Wear silk looking fabrics.

Shop the look!
Silk looks so expensive! Luckily, a lot of fast fashion stores make garments that appear like silk. They are easy to wear with different types of pieces while costing half the price.
Hand wash your garments to prolong their life.
Shop the look!
As much as it’s totally a pain, taking this extra step will save you money over time and will make your clothing look newer for longer. The colour will hold up and the material will fray less. Not to mention, you won’t need to buy new items as frequently.
Wear Timeless Pieces.
Timeless pieces are those garments in your closet you can wear over and over for years to come. They never go out of style and are always the base to an amazing outfit. They also tend to be made of amazing quality. The key to looking rich is to fill your closet with timeless clothing. If you want to know more about how to put together a timeless wardrobe, you can check out this post here.
Keep Your Garments Clean and Wrinkle Free.
There’s nothing less millionaire looking than a wrinkled garment! Be mindful of how your attire looks before leaving the house. It’s always handy to keep a steamer out snd to go over your garments in the morning quickly before heading out the door.
Being Mindful of Dress Codes

Shop the look!
Wealthy people know how to dress for any type of occasion or event. Whether they’re going to a gala or for a tan by the beach, every handbag, accessory and outfit is matched perfectly. Even at the beach, those that look like millionaires don’t carry old grundy beach bags. They have a cute burlap bag with a matching sun hat and cat eye sunglasses. Keep that in mind next time you get dressed to leave the house.
Conclusion
Everyone can learn to dress like a millionaire! It’s just a matter of knowing how to do it without spending thousands of dollars! Let me know in the comments what makes you feel like a millionaire? 🙂

Posted at 16:25h, 12 Augustin uk we have many charity shops – you can find new stuff and also good quality used items bought by young women who have made a mistake buying the item. do not buy the cheapesy sruff in a charity shop – look for the labels and quality bags, shoes and clothes. you will be aramazed at what people throw out and how well you can dress and furnish your home for next to nothing. having said that dont buy something great just because it is low priced or wyou will not make a saving.

Posted at 00:27h, 02 DecemberHi Kathy, thanks for your feedback. Evidently, the tip suggests to ask for the employee discount. If the employee isn’t allowed to share the discount, that’s ok too. However, many stores do create friends and family discounts for the purpose of giving exclusive offers. It’s all relative to the store you’re dealing with. There was no specific target to small businesses here. If anything, it was more targeted for large businesses like Banana Republic. Best xo

Posted at 23:02h, 30 NovemberGreat tips, thank you.
The only thing I would say is I manage two stores, they are both locally owned small businesses. We give our staff a great employee discount, this is something we feel is very important to do because we truly appreciate our staff and want to do what we can to help them. That being said, because we are a small business and are not some big corporation making millions of dollars – we can’t afford to give our discounts to people who don’t work for us. I don’t think it’s fair for you to ask people for their employee discounts. Small businesses feed local families, we need to support them and keep people working.
Thanks for the other tips though.

Posted at 19:55h, 17 OctoberI love consignment stores. That is another great place where I find those one-of-a-kind pieces that pull a lot of your things together. I also shop a lot on eBay. When I find a brand that I like I will set up a search on eBay in my size and when someone post something it alerts me and I can usually get it for a small fraction of the retail price
