When we work from home, we normally like to designate one desk or space in the house for our things.
This helps us stay organized and gives our items for work a spot in the house. There are a few necessary things every home desk or office should have.
Keep reading to find out what your home office needs for optimal productivity and organization.
Drawers and/or Cabinets.
If you don’t have drawers, you can get portable drawers on wheels. The key here is to designate each drawer to something. For example, you can designate one for office supplies, ones for books and perhaps one for files/papers.
Drawer Separators or Organizers
Getting yourself separators for your desk drawers will help you stay organized! It ensures everything has a spot and can be easily found. Drawers are hard to keep organized on their own, so getting separators can actually make a significant difference.
These are especially recommended when it comes to organizing stationary or supplies like pens and pencils.
If you ever use any kind of paper or document, having a filing cabinet or filing system will help you keep track of all your papers and will allow you to store them in a very organize way.
Be sure never to lose your work papers again by getting files and classifying all of your papers effectively.
1 Notebook and 1 Notepad
You should not keep more than one notebook and one notepad on your desk at the same time. You can use that notebook to keep track of any to-do lists you created for yourself or any notes you needed to take.
That way, if ever you need to look back on your notes, they are all in one notebook, organized by date.
Same thing goes for the notepad. If you’re writing random thoughts or taking quick notes on different notepads all the time, you will lose your notes. Keep track of everything by using one notepad at a time.
I don’t know about you, but it seems that my desk at home always has a thousand cables falling from it. I’ve got my iPad charger, my laptop charger, my phone charger, my hard drive cable and my speaker cable all in one area.
To avoid everything getting mixed up, I’ve found getting a cable organizer to be useful for making my desk look clean and polished. They are supper affordable and worth the purchase.
