19 Aug Want to Save Hundreds? Store These Five Items in Your Purse
Reading time: 4 minutes
Wouldn’t it be great if you had items in your purse that helped you save money every day!? Here are five you should carry at all times to help you on your impromptu shopping trips as an elegant young professional!
# 1 Carry your student ID card.
I can’t tell you how many times I was about to buy something and the cashier asked me if I had my student ID on me for a discount!
Almost every time I didn’t and cursed at myself inside for not having it with me!
Stores (restaurants and even gyms) often have a 15% discount for students so keep that student ID handy as it may save you some money at unexpected places. This is a good way not to regret a pricier purchase!
# 2 Hoard coupons in your wallet.
I have so many coupons in my wallet. H&M gives you a coupon for $5 off every time you provide a bag of old clothing.
Often, stores email their sales in forms of coupons as well to their customers. Banana Republic is known for doing that.
You can get discounts up to 50% sometimes, so it’s a good way to dress like a millionaire without spending like one! Make sure to keep an eye out for those coupons since they can definitely be useful!
FYI here’s a money saving secret stores don’t want you to know 😉
# 3 Tide To Go really is a life saver.
Story time: one day, I went to work wearing a beautiful white blouse! I was going about my day and drinking my black coffee when all of a sudden (honestly, I don’t know what happened there) I spilled some on my nice white blouse! Of course, I had an important meeting in an hour, which made me panic.
I swear I was trying to formulate some great tactical plan in my head as to how I was going to find a new white blouse under 30 minutes, make it to my meeting on time and still fulfill my hours for the day.
Turned out, a colleague had a Tide To Go stick that saved both my wallet and my blouse really quickly. This is yet another one of the five purse items to save you money.
By the way – I created a great a guide on how to look expensive for less. Never spend hundreds to look expensive again! Here it is: How to Look Expensive .
# 4 Download Groupon on your phone.
Restaurants, trips, stores and more. You can find a deal on just about anything on there.
It’s definitely worth keeping in your back pocket and great to double check before an impromptu outing or shopping spree.
# 5 Get the SPC card (student price card).
A little bit like a student ID, this card is great for a number of stores and restaurants and can save you 10% off your purchase.
Yes, it costs money to get the SPC (around $10), but it’s worth investing in because you make the money back after 3-4 purchases.
Once you make the money back you start saving money right away! It’s also good for a whole year. Not to mention, it makes it really easy to look like you make 6 figures.
Bonus: This one is not fashion related, but I find it is a huge money saver.
Keep snacks in your purse! There’s nothing worse than being hungry and broke.
Carrying snacks around actually saves me tons of $$ because I don’t spend anything to eat. It’s also a great way to make sure I’m always eating healthy.
Saving money can be easy! Just be sure to carry these five purse items to help you out!
Hope you enjoyed the post! Comment below and other tips you may have that I didn’t mention 🙂
