29 Nov Holiday Gift Guide: 10 Fun Experiences for People
Reading time: 5 minutes
Are you getting anxious with the holidays fast approaching?
Much like everybody else, I myself am starting to think seriously about what to get my loved ones this year. Normally, I like to target the hardest people to buy gifts for first: the ones that already own it all!
Seriously, don’t you feel it’s almost impossible to find them a gift sometimes?
I don’t know about you, but that stresses me out SO much! Not to mention, you probably have tight deadlines coming up and family coming in from out of town you need prep for.
I totally get it, I feel the same way you do this time of year, nervous and overwhelmed.
Luckily, there is one awesome solution to this daunting problem: buying experiences for people. It’s a gift they’ll cherish forever and something that will completely be unique.
Keep reading to find out the 10 experiences for people I recommend this holiday season.
#1 Spa Day
Have you ever heard anyone say they don’t like to relax and be pampered? I don’t think so. Everyone can appreciate a relaxing day at the spa!
What’s great about this gift is it’s an activity you can do together. You can even take this gift together by adding a mani-pedi appointment. Trust me, after the busy holiday season is over, the person you’re giving a spa gift card to will be extremely grateful of a little pamper time!
Although gifting a spa day may be similar to gifting a massage, it is very much possible to gift both separately. Say your loved one has had some trouble with their muscles lately, they are guaranteed to appreciate a lovely 1 hour massage.
Even if their muscles are totally fine, most people will never turn down the luxurious experience of getting a massage.
#3 A Meal at a Nice Restaurant
This is such an awesome gift for a foodie. If you have the funds to book a table at a nice restaurant, by all means, treat your loved one to a fancy meal. Often, places like these have a pre-set menu option that really makes for a fun experience.
There’s nothing like spending a couple hours with somebody, sharing a meal and discovering new flavours. After all, food is what brings most of us close together.
#4 High Tea at the Ritz Carlton
I’ve personally gifted this experience a couple of times, and I must say, I could not recommend it enough! This is a great option if you’re on a tighter budget, but want to offer your loved one a luxury experience.
The menu for high tea includes tea, of course, and three tiers plates full of finger food. The h’ordeuvres served are finger sandwiches, scones with jam, as well as pastries. Trust me, you will be pretty full after this seemingly small meal!
You can book high tea in the afternoon, with the option of adding a glass a champagne to your menu. Of course, if you’d like to save around $10 per person, skip the champagne all the together. I promise, it doesn’t make the experience any less posh.
#5 A Mini Getaway
There’s nothing more fun than buying someone a spontaneous getaway. Whether you’re taking them on a mini road trip, or jetting off to Europe for the weekend, bringing someone on an all paid adventure is a treat for both your loved one and yourself.
It’ll become an experience you’ll always remember and offers you the chance to bond closer with that person.

#6 A Cottage / Ski Day
If you live in a city where it snows, then a trip to your nearest ski slopes may be a gift your loved one would appreciate. Going skiing for the day is actually more expensive than you may think, so it’s really a nice gift for someone that loves the sport, but that doesn’t always have the funds to practice it.
Additionally, if you top off your ski trip with a one night cottage getaway, it’ll make for an absolutely blissful winter experience.

#7 Tickets to a Show
Someone got me tickets to a stand comedy up show once and it was honestly one of the best gifts I’d ever gotten. Not only was the show very entertaining, but it was a gift that was unexpected.
It was fun to spend time with my loved one in a different setting and we got to share an awesome experience that’ll cherish forever.
Any kind of show, wether it be a concert or a musical, is sure to be a fun night spent and gift to remember!
#8 Sky Diving or Bungee Jumping
You know that person in your life that is a true adrenaline junky? Get them a sky diving pass or a bungee jumping experience for the holidays! You’ll be fulfilling their love of adrenaline and will be giving them a gift they’ll truly never forget.
#9 Horse Back Riding
For all those animal lovers in your life, taking them horseback riding is an experience they’ll definitely enjoy, and one they might even find therapeutic. There’s something about getting on the back of a horse that people find calming and peaceful.
Some even feel a connection with the animal, and treat horseback riding as a way for them to escape temporarily their reality.
This is a really cool gift I would give someone that is either going through a tough time or that simply can’t get enough of animals.

#10 Alcohol Tasting
An alcohol tasting can a real load of fun! Wether you choose a wine or beer tasting, your loved one will not only be sampling some of the best alcohol on the planet, but you’ll get the chance to see them in a totally different light.
When drinking responsibly, this can be a positive experience you both remember for years to come.
