Honestly, this term is actually really vague. Personally, business casual means I’m either wearing a dress or a nice pair pants with a blazer.

I believe this look is a happy medium between a relaxed weekend outfit and a fancy dinner ensemble.

Unless you’re going to the Met Gala or a Royal Wedding, if you’re not sure what to wear to a certain occasion, this dress code is always a safe bet. It always allows you to blend in in most social situations.


Why should you be wearing business casual outfits more often?

I find this type of outfit to make me feel confident and put-together, without the fuss of a very fancy look.

I get the same feeling as when I’m wearing a beautiful dress, minus the extra effort. It’s almost like I’m dressed up enough for the day to give me that confidence, but also casual enough to be comfortable in what I’m wearing.

You should try this look out more often! You might be surprised at how great you feel wearing it.


What does a typical business casual look resemble?

Personally, when I’m invited to a business casual event, I usually keep it simple and wear a dress.

I find dresses really comfortable, extremely easy to throw on (because it’s only one piece of clothing), feminine and appropriate.

Plus, I never miss an opportunity to wear a new dress! I also usually pair my dresses with a jean jacket.

Dresses aren’t your vibe?

No worries! Fitted dress pants or black jeans paired with a cute blouse is another great option.

Throwing on a blazer over the top never hurt either. Wearing fitted dress pants are actually a little more casual than wearing long, flowy ones because they make less of a statement.

Additionally, jeans and a blazer is actually the most classic business casual outfit you can wear! This look is versatile, comfortable and most importantly, appropriate.

On the plus side, if you get to the event and the blazer is too dressy for the occasion, you can just take it off. No one will ever know you were slightly overdressed.


Regarding accessorizing your outfit:
