24 Mar Amazon Must-Haves: At Home Gym Equipment & Attire
Reading time: 4 minutes
It’s no secret that we should be moving our body even if we are stuck at home. The best way to do that is with a series of at home workouts with little gym equipment!
However, what is a productive workout without the right equipment? Keep reading to find out which at home gym equipment helps me perform better during a workout.
Bench / Footstool
Naturally, a gym bench is a piece of at home gym equipment I recommend because of its versatility. You can do so many different types of exercises with a bench such as bench presses, tricep dips and steps.
Not only will you be using this bench or footstool for your workouts, but you’ll also be using it around the house to reach things in high places.
A small dumbbell set of three different weights is awesome for so many exercises.
You can use the heavier weights when doing leg exercises, such as squats and lunges. As well, you can use the lighter weights for upper body and ab movements, such as tricep quick-back and toe touch.
Moreover, a dumbbell set can come in handy when doing almost any online workout. All you have to do is add them to your routine.
Ankle weights are great for adding a touch of difficulty to any body weight workout. They aren’t too heavy and can be added and removed quickly.
I use them during workouts like pilates or when I am doing a movement that tones and isolates a specific part of my body. Ankle weights are also great for adding a challenge to your yoga sessions.
Thigh Resistance Bands
If you are doing any type of booty sculpting exercises, adding a resistance band will make your butt workout that much more difficult! They are awesome for lower body workouts in general and are super affordable.
Not to mention, they are easy to store and to carry around. Definitely a piece of gym equipment you could bring on vacation as well.
If you’re looking for a piece of equipment that will challenge your workouts, resistance bands are the ones for you!
Long Resistance Bands
Long resistance bands are practical for upper body movements at home. For example, they are awesome for replacing weights while doing bicep curls or tricep exercises. Additionally, they can be used as a substitute for TRX bands, which can be very expensive.
I like to use long resistance bands for a number of body weight movements and workouts.
If you have a Fitbit or Apple Watch, then you know how great they are at tracking your fitness activity all day. If you want to know how many steps you walked, how many calories your burned in a workout or what your heart rate is, then a smart watch is a great accessory to complement your active lifestyle.
I love my Fitbit and never do a workout without it. The best part is being able to see all of my fitness activity on the Fitbit app at the end of each week.
I cannot do a workout without my fitness gloves! They have a few key benefits I love. Firstly, they actually help me grip my equipment better and help me stand on my hands longer during my workouts. They prevent any pain from holding dumbbells or equipment in general.
Secondly, these are awesome for preventing any germs getting on my hands. The best part is the fitness gloves are machine washable and so easy to store in the house.
I personally love preparing my gym gear the night before a workout, even if I’m working out at home. That means I also love filling up my water bottle the night before.
My go-to bottle is a Swell bottle simply because it does such a great job of keeping my water cold for 24 hours. This is also a piece of equipment I use for all of my workouts.
When working out, it is so important for you to ensure you have proper shoes that are optimal for your posture. If you wear poorly structured shoes, you could end up with a lot of medical issues like back pain.
If you’re in the business of finding leggings that help you perform better during your workouts, I love Lululemon the most. I particularly like how the Speed Up’s feel on my body while I workout. They suck me in while feeling very comfortable.
You can’t workout at home without a mat! You’ll be using your mat every time you want to get your sweat on.
A skipping rope is awesome for a quick cardio workout on the spot. You can’t beat a simple cardio workout like a jump rope workout.
In this article, I’ve shown you which at home gym equipment everyone should have to compliment their workouts.
